My crazy life

Friday, August 19, 2005

Oh dear, what a week or two. I had a glorious time singing in Ripon Cathedral last week/end, in spite of having to endure a stroppy prima donna of a soprano. But I caught up with some old friends and made some new ones, so that's always good. Back in Manchester now, sorting out a place to live, eating and drinking, and preparing myself mentally for what is going to be an insane weekend in Cockermouth (of all places). It wouldn't be quite so mad if I didn't have to drive back the length of the country on Sunday, in order to play for a service 1) in Manchester (in the morning); 2) in Leicester (in the evening) and then 3) depart for a week singing in Norwich Cathedral. I say this every year, but I really mustn't do so much next summer. At this rate I'll have a breakdown. So anyway, I'll try to do some organ practice tomorrow, which should make me feel a bit better about the whole thing. At least I can say I've lived life to the full!
